  1. Introduction: One of the important techniques for temperature independence of the reference voltage is obtained by summing two different temperature dependent voltage sources. Voltage reference provides biasing voltage and at the same compensate for variation in output caused by voltage, process and temperature. The output voltage we get in BJT is around 1.2V , but the latest technologies prefer much lesser output voltage. Therefore MOS transistor based voltage reference is preferred in many applications as it can work in low voltage and consume less power and the size is much smaller when compared to BJT. The generators are needed to be settled over measure, voltage, temperature varieties, and furthermore to be carried out without change of the manufacturing cycle.
  2. Design Goals:

To design a CMOS based bandgap voltage reference circuit which occupies less area , dissipates less power and the efficiency of the circuit is high

Description

Basically, An integrated circuit should work at all temperature regions, so a reference voltage should be used which is independent of temperature so that it can be compared with another voltage that is dependent on temperature. A voltage reference is a device that ideally produces a fixed voltage. These circuits are one of the most important analog building blocks required for many circuits like Analog to Digital converter, voltage regulators etc., These circuits are designed based on a band gap reference which typically provides stable voltage over power supply variations, ambient temperatures .By modifying the bandgap load, the temperature dependences of the voltage output and the current output can be compensated separately.
